North Carolina Regions
In 4th grade, our Social Studies focus is North Carolina and everything about it.  Today we introduced the 3 regions of North Carolina and began to discuss the land formations of each region.  To help us remember where the regions are located, we decorated a North Carolina shaped cookie!  We used chocolate chips for the mountains, green coconut for the Piedmont, crushed graham crackers for the Coastal Plains and of course we had to line the coast with a sea of blue sugar!  This is just a "taste" of what's to come!
Welcome to a new year!
Welcome to a new school year!  Can you believe that the summer is already over and South Graham is already back in school?  It's going to be a great year!  I am excited to get to know each of my students and all of the learning will we be doing.  Check back often to see what great things are happening in the classroom!

A New Start
We started out the year by spending a lot of time getting to know each other.  We are a team and for teammates to work together, we need to communicate and get to know one another.  We created towers with only 3 paper plates, 3 plastic cups, scissors, masking tape, a piece of paper, 6 paper clips, 3 straws, 3 pipe cleaners and 3 rubber bands.  Each group was to create a tower with the challenge of making it the tallest that withstand hurricane force winds (Mrs. Wall blowing on the tower).  Each group did a great job!
